I Build NH Names Mark Hodsdon as Construction Sector Champion

Concord, NH – I Build NH announced that Mark Hodsdon, President of Palmer and Sicard, will serve as the non-profit organization’s Construction Sector Champion. The position was previously held by Alex Phelps, VP of Construction at Pike Industries, and Wayne Symonds, Executive VP at Methuen Construction Company.

I Build NH represents the construction sector of the state through the Sector Partnerships Initiative (SPI). I Build NH represents companies involved in heavy construction like municipal water treatment systems and road building, electric and telecommunication infrastructure, civil engineering, heating/ventilation/air conditioning businesses and more.

Hodsdon will guide the efforts of a Construction Sector Partnership advisory group made up of industry champions. This group of experienced construction industry experts works with workforce development professionals, the education community, local economic development professionals and others to help highlight outstanding career opportunities in the sector.

Hodsdon has been in the construction industry for more than 30 years; starting his career as an Apprentice Carpenter and eventually becoming a Superintendent, Project Manager, Estimator, General Manager, and Vice President  for a Commercial General Contracting Firm. Today he is the President and CEO of Palmer and Sicard, Inc. an employee-owned Mechanical Contracting Firm.

About the NH Sector Partnerships Initiative

The Sector Partnerships Initiative (SPI) is a new industry-driven state-wide effort to help New Hampshire businesses in targeted industries address workforce needs. Focusing on five core industries – construction, health care, hospitality, manufacturing and technology – SPI assists companies in finding funding and training resources that provide employees with improved skills and career advancement opportunities. SPI also helps companies create a network to convene and collaborate with other companies on a regular basis to identify shared hiring, training and retention needs.
